SQL Server Reporting Server Configuration Manager

Assumption: All pre-requisites have been met and you don't have a pre-existing enterprise SSRS.

The following steps are to be done directly on the SQL Server Reporting Server Environment Operating System


  1. Launch the Report Server Configuration Manager.
  2. Click Connect to connect to the SQL Server Reporting Server.
  3. Click Database from the left Navigation Panel.
  4. Click Change Database and Select Create a New Report Server Database.
  5. Enter the Server Name where you want to deploy the Reporting Database and set the Authentication Type and lastly Test Connection.
  6. Click Next to proceed. Leave the Database inputs as-is and click Next again.
  7. If Credentials apply, enter them or simply click Next to proceed.
  8. Click Next to proceed and complete the process.
  9. Click Change Credentials and ensure it is set as Service Account with the login as NT Service\SQLServerReportingServices.
  10. Click the Apply button to ensure changes are saved.
  11. Click Web Service URL from the left Navigation Panel.
  12. Click the Apply button to proceed with the default configurations.
  13. Click Web Portal URL from the left Navigation Panel.
  14. Click the Apply button to proceed with the default configurations.
  15. Click Service Account from the left Navigation Panel.
  16. Select Use Another Account and enter the SSRS User account created as part of the Pre-Requisites.

 

SQL Server Reporting Server Web Portal

  1. Click Web Portal from the left Navigation Panel.
  2. Click the underlined URL to launch the Web Portal.
  3. From the top navigation menu, click on New and select Folder.
  4. Set the Folder Name as ACReports [case sensitive].
  5. Click the ACReports folder to go into the folder.
  6. From the top navigation menu, click on Manage Folder.
  7. Navigate to Security from the left Navigation Panel.
  8. Click on Add Group or User button and search for the SSRS User created as part of the Pre-Requisite. Ensure all checkboxes are selected for Permissions [Browser, Content Manager, My Reports, Publisher, Report Builder].
  9. Navigate back to the ACReports folder.
  10. From the top navigation menu, click on New and select Data Source.
  11. Set the Name to ACCMDR_DS [case sensitive].
  12. Set the Type to Microsoft SQL Server for Connection.
  13. Set the Connection String to Data Source=DBServerName,DBServerPortNumber; Initial Catalog=ACCMDRWEB;.
    Replace the highlighted portion with your Database Server Name and Port Number that has been previously used in Step 1.
  14. Select the Using the following Credentials for Credentials and change the Type of Credentials to Database User Name and Password.
  15. Enter accmdr_dba for the Username.
  16. Password will be provided during deployment.

 

Upload RDL Files to SQL Server Reporting Server

  1. Upload the RDL files provided located in C:\BLANK_AC_DB\ReportFiles directory to the ACReports folder via the Web Portal.

If you are familiar with Powershell, you may use the SSRS_RDL_Deployment.ps1 Powershell script file located in C:\BLANK_AC_DB\Exec directory to bulk upload all the RDL Files.
